Evolution of unique IPs and ipset size
Each time an ipset is updated we keep track of its size. This is a graph of these data.
Entries
is the number of entries the ipset has.
UniqueIPs
is the number of unique IPs the ipset matches.
Retention of unique IPs
One also important factor of a blocklist, is its retention policy. Retention refers to the time an IP is expected to stay in the blocklist, once added. This is very important, because the world is full of dynamic IPs, i.e. IPs that are being re-used by different users.
For several blocklists, to detect their retention policy at a satisfactory level we may need some time. As time passes, our detection gathers more data and the chart is updated.
The percentage of the IPs for which we detected the time was removed from the blocklist, is shown at the title of the chart.
